Team Director & Head Coach Stephanie Barnes
Coach Stephanie Barnes is the Head Swimming Coach at TMI: The Episcopal School of Texas and the San Antonio Splash. Her impressive resume includes Head Coach of Lewis University, Assistant Coach of Auburn University and the 2002 Women's National Champions, Volunteer Coach for the University of Texas Men's Team and Associate Head Coach at the University of South Carolina.
She is a 7-time YMCA Champion, Junior National Runner-Up, Senior National Finalist, 2-time Olympic Trial Qualifier and an NCAA All-American.
The 2016-2017 marked the most successful season in TMI swimming history. Both the boys and girls teams came in 2nd at the TAPPS STATE MEET! 8 school records were broken, the boys won 2 or the 3 state relay championships and there were two individual state champions with one breaking the all-time TAPPS STATE RECORD. Previously, the combined boys & girls team at TMI have now won two consecutive Regional Championships in 2015 & 2016. The girls' team had won the Central Regional three years in a row and finished a PREVIOUSLY all-time high of 4th place at TAPPS State in both 2014 & 2016. In 2016, the boys' team won their first regional championship and have progressed from 15th place in 2013 to two consecutive 3rd place finished at TAPPS State as well.
After six year at Fair Oaks Ranch Country Club and two consecutive AAAA Summer League Championships Coach Barnes and her amazingly gifted Splash team took 2nd place at their very first Championship meet. We are ready for 2017 to begin!
Coach Armando Martinez
The Splash welcomes back the amazing Coach Armando! This year Armando will serve as Coach Stephanie's "RIGHT HAND MAN". Coach Armando swam for Coach Stephanie at TMI and was a state qualifier and point scorer every single year. Armando is now at Pepperdine University in California and is coming home this summer just to coach the Splash!

Coach Isabella McCafferty
Isabella is a recent graduate of TMI- The Episcopal School of Texas. She swam for all 4 years of high school and capped off her senior year with a 3rd place finish at the TAPPS State Meet in the 100 Breast stroke. She has been swimming all her life and competed in year round swimming for 9 years. She was coach at Fair Oaks for 2 years and moved over to Splash during it's first year as a volunteer coach. At the end of the summer she will be off to College Station to start her freshman at A&M.
Coach Bailey LePage
After swimming for Coach Stephanie for the past 8 years Bailey decided to jump on in and start coaching last winter. She has done a fabulous job with the Winter Swim Groups coaching multiple groups and time a week and is now part of the full-time Splash Staff.
Bailey has a great eye for technique and a superb ability to read Coach Stephanie's mind, which is talent unknown to many that have tried. Coach Bailey is a fantastic and hopefully long-term addition to the Splash Coach Staff.

Coach Elizabeth Holmes
Coach Elizabeth joins us fresh off of her senior year at TMI-The Episcopal School of Texas. She is a returning coach from last years Splash team and will continue her work as the technique expert. She has loads of swimming experience having been around the pool all of her life. In the fall, she will take her talents to Harvard University where she will be swimming and perusing a degree in Biology.
Coach Jen Gil
Coach Jennifer "Jen" Gil is the assistant coach for the TMI Upper school and is head coach of the TMI Middle school program. Along with her duties at TMI, she is also the Site Director for the San Wave at UTSA. She has been coaching for over 5 years now as her profession and has a passion of helping kids improve.
